Treating your customers as infants is a bad idea, and online advertising is no different. Mozilla and IE have taken the nanny approach to online ad privacy, but it’s not looking like a winning strategy.

Instead, respecting our different preferences by providing easy to use, powerful, ad privacy controls to customers treats people like adults.

Being, as I am, part of the online ad industry, I want my ads to be shown to as many people as possible. But it has to be done while respecing people as people.
